Kindness Takes Patience
The phrase “kindness leads to repentance” can almost become formulaic. If I am kind, then my child will repent. If I am kind, then my child will stop misbehaving….Romans 2:4 highlights the power of kindness in bringing people to repentance, while also recognizing that it takes time.
Drawing Your Dysregulated Child Close
As I have been doing the hard work of dealing with my baggage and becoming a safe and loving person for my children, I am slowly (emphasis on slowly) learning to draw my children close in times of misbehavior and dysregulation rather than push them away.
Getting Out of the Crazy Cycle
I recognized early on that I was screwing things up. But instead of stopping or correcting myself, I just kept going in a glorious display of poor parenting leading us straight onto the crazy cycle.
Showing God to Our Children
I want to be more intentional in my pursuit of the Lord so that I would be able to represent him well. I want to make him look beautiful and for them to know that they are loved by the creator God.
I’m a mess, God is not
God knows you are a mess. He knew you’d be a mess when he chose these children for you. He is strong, faithful and he will carry you through.
