My Journey to Connected Families

Big meltdowns, hitting, throwing things, and sensory challenges–those were some of the reasons I decided to Google “Christian parent coaching.” I had tried therapy but what I really needed was a gospel-based, brain-informed approach to parenting. I was a tired mama, with scratches all over her arms, who needed help. And there in the search was Connected Families. I read a little of their website, and then a little more. I bought their book, listened to the podcast and registered for the Discipline that Connects course as soon as I could.

I remember sitting and crying as I read the book, feeling the Lord’s grace wash over me. The tension that I had felt about not parenting the traditional way seeped out and healing began to take place. More than that, an alternative way was presented to me that had Jesus’ finger prints all over it. I felt seen, with all the unique aspects of my family acknowledged, and I felt hope that I could do this parenting thing well after all.

The Connected Families framework combines all the things that I value–God’s word, brain research, heart transformation and practical application–and explains it in a way that makes sense. Walking other moms through this framework, and helping them experience God’s grace and truth in their parenting is such a gift. Through parent coaching, you will discover a way of thinking, of being, that informs your parenting and changes the culture of your home. This might be hard, but it is worth it!
